Queensland prison officer ‘cant find job’ after affair

A Queensland prison officer has claimed the government won’t hire her after she had an affair with a female inmate.

The anonymous woman, who refereed to herself as #crimlover online, took to Facebook this week to express her frustration, 7 News reported. 

‘So because I got feelings for someone who has broken the law, which most of us have at some stage in life, I can’t get a government job using one of my six qualifications,’ the woman said.

The woman was suspended from her job as a Corrections officer at Brisbane Women’s Correctional Centre in July for a breach of conduct

‘I can’t get a good reference from the past two and a half years of me being somewhat of a good officer!’

The woman said because of her affair she is afraid rest of her career will be determined by what society feels is ‘disgusting and wrong.’

‘Moral of the story is, I will be stuck cleaning toilets or im im lucky changing tampon bins because I fell for someone who is more loyal and caring than most.’

The woman was suspended from her job as a Corrections officer at Brisbane Women’s Correctional Centre in July for a breach of conduct.

She was in a relationship with a female inmate, staff who worked with the woman alleged.

The inmate is currently on parole.

In July Queensland Corrective Services confirmed to 7 News they suspended a custodial officer at Brisbane Women’s jail.

Queensland Corrective services told Daily Mail Australia they could not comment further due to privacy reasons.
