Queensland tragedy: Baxter family’s dog has spent the day ‘looking up at the sky’

‘New friends after losing everyone she loves’: The Baxter’s heartbroken dog Savannah gazes skyward after being taken in when her family was killed in horrific car inferno

  • Rowan Baxter, 42, killed his wife Hannah and their three children on Wednesday
  • The ex NRL player set a car alight with his family inside before taking his own life

A close friend of murdered woman Hannah Baxter has told how he has spent the day cuddling their orphaned pet dog, who he says continues to ‘look up to the sky’.

Dave Kramer says he has been unable to stop crying since Mrs Baxter and her three children Laianah, Aaliyah and Trey were burned alive by their father, Rowan Baxter.

As he continues to reel from the tragedy that has rocked Australia, Mr Kramer shared a photo to Instagram of the family’s dog Savannah surrounded by new canine friends after ‘losing everyone she loves’.

‘I still don’t want to believe it. As I wake up this morning with their family dog laying in my bed, I realize this isn’t just a nightmare, and all I can do is lay here, cuddle her and cry,’ Mr Kramer wrote.

‘Hannah was an amazing woman and she was a pillar of strength to so many others.

‘If she even sensed someone was a little down, she’d know exactly how to brighten up their day with her one of a kind voice and big smile.’
