‘My fitness journey now has really been from that really rapid weight gain. I was a chubby kid who got made fun of a lot, and I got fit in high school and I stayed fit in my 20s, until my dad died.’

He reveals the weight loss was initially started because he wanted to date, but ended up being a more personal journey.

‘There was a time when I was like, “Oh my god, I have to lose this weight because if I don’t, then who’s gonna date me?” [Now], my working out is about me. It wasn’t always like that, but that’s where it’s landed.’

Jonathan first gained notoriety for his comedic summaries of HBO’s Game Of Throne episodes called Gay Of Thrones.

In 2017, he landed the spot as groomer on Queer Eye and is now ramping up to film the second season on Netflix.
