Queer Eye star Tan France and husband Rob reveal they’re expecting second child

Tan France and his husband Rob are ‘over the moon’ as they revealed they are expecting their second child.

The couple are expecting the new addition to their family this summer, People revealed.

The Queer Eye star, 39 found out their surrogate was pregnant around Christmas.

‘We were over the moon. It was the best feeling ever. I mean, it felt almost as shocking as the first time,’ he said.

‘I was overjoyed, in tears, I couldn’t believe that it had finally happened again. It was just the most incredible feeling.’

Tan and Rob, who have been married since 2007, are already parents to son Ismail, one-and-a-half.

The Naturally Tan author shared his desire to expand his family on the Milk Drunk podcast on Thursday, saying he and his husband really wanted to give their son a sibling who was close in age.

‘We wanted him to have someone that will be his person that he’s tethered to. I’m really close with my siblings and my husband is really close with his, so we wanted to create a family where [our child] would have more support other than just Rob and I.’

‘We are so excited about Ismail having a sibling, but the most exciting part is that he will have somebody hopefully for the rest of his life that he gets to call his person,’ Tan added.

And the Next in Fashion host admitted that while he and Rob are very excited about expecting their second child, their young son has no idea what’s going on.

‘All he knows is that there is a car outside with his name on it. As soon as he wakes up the first word is ‘car,’ and the second word is ‘car.’ So it doesn’t matter what we try to explain to him, what we’re trying to show him, his only word is ‘car,’ ‘ he shared with the outlet.

And the couple already know the gender and name of their next child – but they aren’t sharing that just yet.

‘I always knew these two names that I loved the most. And so thankfully, Rob loves them also,’ he said. ‘We’re on track to call our baby this name.’

They are using a different surrogate this time around and he detailed their relationship.

‘The only thing that’s different is that she’s out of state, so we don’t get to see her in real life as much, but we see her on FaceTime or Zoom,’ he added. ‘We text regularly, and so it’s been great.’

And the British-born fashion personality, who resides in Salt Lake City, Utah, plans to stay right where he is.

‘As an Asian, gay Muslim I was desperate to get away,’ Tan said in his documentary Tan France: Beauty & the Bleach. ‘I have been concerned about my skin color from the day I was born.

‘Growing up in Doncaster I always felt unsafe. I thought if I had whiter skin I wouldn’t be called a P*** every day.

Tan explained how a gang of men had attacked him while he was on his way to school because he was Pakistani.

‘I used to wake up thinking, “What trouble is my skin going to get me into today?” It was about survival. Being able to get home without being attacked.’

‘I just thought, I need to find a way to date, to get a job, potentially a marriage,’ he revealed.

And now he has everything he ever wanted and a new baby on the way.
