 Career plan B? A mechanic.

Who would play you in the movie of your life? Any actor with one leg [Jonnie lost his leg after contracting meningitis aged five].

Biggest bugbear? People who lie.

As a child you wanted to… Play football for England.

Where is home? Cambridgeshire.

Earliest memory? My grandmother had an apple tree and I remember eating apples in her back garden.

Your best quality? I think that I’m a caring person.

And your worst? Timekeeping.

Last meal on earth? It would have to be a burger. A classic burger with tomato and lettuce would do.

Dream dinner-party guests? Johnny Vegas, Adam Hills, Alex Brooker, Aled Davies, Ricky Gervais and my girlfriend Sally.

Advice to teenage self? Don’t doubt yourself.

Secret skill? I am really very good at hopping.

What do you see when you look in the mirror? This Cool Runnings quote comes to mind: ‘I see pride! I see power! I see a badass mother who don’t take no cr** off of nobody’.

Starstruck moment? Meeting Usain Bolt on the warm-up track at the 2012 Paralympics in London.

Career highlight? Winning gold medals in the T44 men’s 100m at the 2012 and 2016 Paralympics in London and Rio.

Favourite tipple? Tequila.

Hangover cure? I’ve never been able to come up with one!

What did you have for breakfast today? Nothing yet – I appeared on BBC Breakfast first thing this morning.

Top of your bucket list? Australia – I can’t wait to go.

Biggest inspiration? Long John Silver, the first famous one-legged man.

One thing that would make your life better? Getting my leg back.

Philosophy? Anything is possible.

Your idea of a perfect day? A long lazy morning, followed by a session on the Xbox and then a walk with my french bulldog Luna.

Worst job you’ve done? Doing the washing-up at home.

Last film that made you cry? The Green Mile.

Where would you time travel to? The future. We’re developing technology at such a fast speed that I want to know how it’s going to be used and what it will enable us to do.

First record you bought? ‘Spinning Around’ by Kylie Minogue.

Favourite book? Achieve the Impossible by Professor Greg Whyte.

Biggest extravagance? A holiday to the Maldives in 2012 with Sally.

Style icon? Gok Wan.

Celebrity crush? Josh Widdicombe.

Happiness is… Sleeping in.

Any New Year’s resolutions? I want to enjoy and challenge myself with new skills, such as dancing!
