Baseball fans at Fenway Park in Boston were shocked to see a large black and white banner unfurled on the Green Monster with the words ‘Racism is as American as baseball.’
The sign was held by three attendees at the Red Sox’s game against the Oakland Athletics Wednesday night. The trio were ejected from the game for their aggressive stunt.
The white, large lettering, jumped out in stark contrast against the black backdrop and draped far down the wall.

Redsox fan’s have been previously mired in racial controversy.
Back in May the Orioles outfielder Adam Jones said slurs including the N-word were thrown at him.
Jones even had a bag of peanuts tossed at him during the game.
Yankees player CC Sabathia also has said players expect racial taunts when playing the historic Boston venue.
Scattered boos could be heard throughout the stadium as the fans were escorted out.
After a season spattered with racial tensions at Fenway, the Red Sox recently said they’d be they’d be in favor of renaming Yawkey Way, a street outside the stadium.
The three game attendees were tossed from the game soon after their stunt
Tom Yawkey has been understood historically as being racist, even for his time, was president of the Red Sox for 44 seasons starting in 1933.
He picked a manager Michael ‘Pinky’ Higgins, who was quoted as saying ‘said there would be ‘no n****** on this ballclub’ according to MassLive, as long as he had anything to say about it.
The Red Sox were the last team in the league to integrate.
