The Hit Network has axed several of its major stars from four of its regional radio stations on Australia’s east coast.
Included in the upheaval are popular 90.9 Sea FM Gold Coast team Bianca, Ben & Lakey, Newcastle Hit 106.9’s breakfast trio of Nick, Jess and Dicko and Cliffo and Bronte from Hit Queensland in Townsville.
The news comes after Hit stars Maz Compton and Matty Baseley from 101.3 Gosford announced last week that they would not be back on the network in the new year.
The Hit Network, which is owned and operated by Southern Cross Austereo has not confirmed any new plans.
A spokesman from SCA did release a statement to industry blog, Mediaweek, confirming that Danny Lakey will be staying with Hit’s Gold Coast station and be on air next year with a new breakfast team.

Bianca Dye and Ben Hannant, meanwhile, will be ‘moving on’.
Insiders have suggested that SCA will be networking a single regional Hit breakfast show that will air in NSW and Queensland.
Meanwhile, RadioInfo reports that there is speculation that the Hit stations in Newcastle, Gosford, Townsville and the Gold Coast will amalgamated to reduce costs.

The pair also took to Instagram to farewell their fans last week.
‘The powers that be have decided that our show won’t be coming back in 2024,’ Baseley said.
‘In what has been a tough couple of weeks processing it all, we went out with a BANG this morning.
‘It’s been a privilege sharing the studio with these fine humans and the airwaves with NSW for the last 16 months.
‘Who knows what 2024 will bring, but I’m kinda excited to see.
‘As Dr Suess said, ”don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened”.’
