Radio host Chrissie Swan reveals her worst celebrity interview and says they ‘left her feeling like nothing’

Chrissie Swan has interviewed hundreds of celebrities throughout her long TV and radio career.

And now, the 49-year-old has revealed the worst interview she ever conducted was with rock band Duran Duran.

The interview was made all the worse given Chrissie actually idolised the band as a child.

The Aussie TV star said on The Chrissie Swan Show that ‘two of the members were really rude’ and ‘belittled’ her.

‘One was with my childhood icons, Duran Duran, that was an excruciating interview. And two of the members were really rude to me. I just left there feeling like nothing,’ she said.

Chrissie explained she had met her other icons including Lily Tomlin, Gina Davis, Debbie Harry and Sarah Jessica Parker and they had been ‘wonderful’.

‘But Duran Duran, they really belittled me and I just felt like a big loser,’ she continued.

Her co-host Jack Charles asked: ‘Did they know you were fans?’

‘Yes. You could tell on my face. And that’s even more unkind,’ she admitted.

Chrissie also said her interview with former AFL star Sam Newman was ‘hands down the worst experience I’ve had in the media’.

The interview was ‘terrible’ so she left the studio in tears and they couldn’t air it.

‘It was absolutely the worst by far. It was a terrible, terrible situation and so unusual in my career to feel so attacked. It was terrible,’ she added.

Jack then weighed in with his worst celebrity encounter, revealing it had been with former Bachelor star Nick Cummins.

‘The worst person I didn’t even interview was when I was producing Chrissie, Sam & Brownie. We had the Honey Badger in.’

‘He refused to take his air pods out to speak to one of our other producers. And as he walked through the hallways of the studio he would not speak to anyone, even his publicist.’
