Syndicated nightly radio show host Delilah Rene announced Friday that her son Zachariah has passed away by suicide.
The admired on-air personality shared the heart-wrenching news to her Facebook page – informing fans of the tragedy and announcing she would be taking a necessary break from work to grieve and reflect on the family’s sudden loss.
‘My dear friends, I need to share some devastating news with you. In the early morning hours, Tuesday, October 3, my son Zachariah, took his life,’ she revealed to her legion of followers.
‘He was being treated, counseled, and embraced fiercely by family and friends while battling depression for some time now. My heart is broken beyond repair and I can not fathom how to go on…but I have to believe he is at peace with the Lord and that God will get us through,’ she continued.

‘I will be absent from the radio and on social media for a time as I grieve and try to process this loss with my family. In the meantime we’ll be playing some of my favorite shows from the recent past. I’ll look forward to my return, as you all lift me up so very much.
‘Please pray for my beloved Zacky, and I will pray for all suffering from this debilitating disease called depression.’
Delilah showed her support to those battling depression and other deteriorating mental illnesses as she shared contact information to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline to her page.

The heart-stricken mother sadly was forced to say goodbye to another one of her son’s back in 2012 due to complications from sickle cell anemia.
The ‘Love Someone Today’ author shared details on the daunting medical treatments her late son, Samuel Young Dzolali Rene, endured in the days prior to his tragic passing.
‘I need anyone who reads this to please, please pray for my son Sammy. He has been in the hospital for 10 days now due to his sickle cell anemia, and last night he took a turn for the worst and is now fighting for his life,on life support, in ICU,’ she said at the time.
‘I know that God is holding him in the palm of His hand, I am praying that He heals him and grants him a long and healthy life…’
Sadly, Delilah later announced that Sammy lost his battle to the disease.
Including her angels Zachariah and Sammy, Delilah is a mother to 13 children. 10 of the children she welcoming through adoption – which she has proudly advocated on her famed talk show.
