Amanda Keller and Brendan Jones were left stunned on Tuesday after ‘the world’s number one divorce lawyer’ James Sexton exposed an ‘outrageous’ story about one of his clients.
The radio hosts were discussing how Sexton revealed one of the worst prenup deals he has ever seen in a recent podcast.
Sexton told Steven Bartlett on the Diary of a CEO Podcast that one couple’s provision stated that ‘for every 10lbs (4.5kgs) the wife gained in the marriage, she would lose $US10,000 (around $15,000AUD) in alimony’.
The high-profile divorce lawyer added that the wife would earn US$70,000-a-month (around AU$105,000) if she maintained her weight from the date of marriage.
‘He (the husband) was very concerned that she was going to become less attractive and he was going to become more wealthy. So his solution to this was in the prenuptial agreement,’ he added.

‘Even though it was outrageous, it was upheld in court.
‘That was enforceable, meaning they tried to challenge and set aside that provision, and the court said ‘this is a disgusting provision, I don’t know why you married this person, but it’s enforceable. It’s a contract, the two of you signed it”,’ Sexton continued.
Amanda, 62, was appalled after sharing the story on her radio show.
‘For most of us you’d go “you’re a bastard. I’m out.” She obviously knows he’s a bastard and she’s going along with it,’ she raged.
The media personality then compared the situation to being in a contract with Jenny Craig and a Hollywood actor where you have to maintain a weight and ‘look a certain way’.
‘But in a prenup, it seems worse when a man is saying to a woman “I don’t want you to pack it on”,’ she added.
Fans were quick to share their thoughts on the matter on social media.
‘Did she sign it? marry him? What did she expect, happily ever after??’ one wrote.
‘Does he loose the same alimony if he looses his hair?’ another joked.
‘That is a stupid clause in the prenup as the woman might get pregnant and definitely put on weight! Unless the husband wants no children but it is still wrong,’ a third commented.
