A teenage employee at Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers in Kansas City, Missouri was caught on video using her hand and forearm to stir a pitcher of iced tea

The appalling video has gone viral with 862,000 views and more than 14,000 shares.

The incident took place at a Raising Cane’s location in Kansas City, Missouri that opened in October 2017.

The chicken fast food chain released a statement following the viral video.

‘At Raising Cane’s, we take pride in what we do and work very hard to train our 19,000+ crewmembers to uphold the highest standards, which our customers have come to expect from us. After reviewing the video of the isolated incident at the Tiffany Springs restaurant, we are incredibly disappointed by the actions of these crewmembers,’ President AJ Kumaran said according to The Kansas City Star.

‘We take the safety and quality of our food very seriously, and we will not tolerate any actions that compromise these standards,’ he added.

The chain stated that the two teenage employees involved in the video have been fired.

As for the drink, management discarded the iced tea and sanitized the serving station.

‘It doesn’t represent our values. It’s a very isolated situation in one restaurant. We terminated both crew members and have a clean bill of health. It’s very disappointing,’ Kumaran added.

It is not clear if the company will press charges in addition to firing the teens involved in the video.

‘We are exploring all options,’ Kumaran said.

On Wednesday the Kansas City Health Department also visited the restaurant to address sanitary concerns.

‘The establishment had already taken action and addressed the situation. We just reiterated with a verbal warning that they need to adhere to the food code,’ Bill Snook, spokesman for the health department, said.

The chain also held a meeting on Thursday to ‘reinforce procedures’.
