Rap sensation Common kicks off Daily Mail’s exclusive Off The Record Party with incredible rooftop performance

Common kicked off Daily Mail’s spectacular Off The Record Party in New York City on Wednesday night with a mind blowing rooftop performance.

The multi award-winning rapper, 52, took to the stage at the exclusive party held at Arlo Williamsburg in Brooklyn with a 360-degree backdrop of the city behind him.

Walking out to an eruption of applause, Common quickly delighted guests with his classics including The Light and Come Close.

At one point, he even freestyled a special track for 90 Day Fiancé star Angela Deem who joined him on stage.

Before his intimate show, Common – who is dating singer and actress Jennifer Hudson – lit a palo santo stick and revealed he practices meditation and says a prayer before every gig.

Speaking on the blue carpet, he gushed: ‘I’m excited to perform for Daily Mail and for everyone here in New York.’

Taking a holy stick out of his pocket and lighting it up, he shared his pre-performance rituals.

‘I have palo santo, I light it up, I’ll say a prayer,’ he said. ‘I’ll listen to music. Sometimes it’s jazz music, sometimes it’s 90s R&B.

‘Music is gonna give me the mood and inspiration that I need, and then I make sure that I bond with my comrades that I’m performing with.’

Reality stars showed up in full force for the Daily Mail commercial bash, including Love Is Blind alum Clay Gravesande, 32, and Arzo Anwar, 46, of Bravo’s Blood, Sweat & Heels fame.

Love & Hip Hop’s Chrissy Monroe, 52, was also in attendance and shared behind-the-scenes videos where she described the event as ‘such an awesome party’.

Influencer Connie Zen, 25, rapper Connie Diiamond, 31, and Winter House’s Jason Cameron, 38, posed for photos on the carpet.

He enthused: ‘This is the world’s first glimpse at Flowerboy, we’re calling it a social soda, because yes, it is a micro dose THC product, but it doesn’t make you tired, it makes you social!’

Kyle even brought the can – which was a gorgeous orange color – to the party to give DailyMail.com a sneak peek of the drink which will be dropping soon.

It has 5 mg of THC and 5 grams of sugar, and Kyle says you can ‘feel good’ about drinking it.

Throughout the evening, guests sipped on a range of Daily Mail themed cocktails, including a margarita drink that was aptly re-named Citrus Sensation and a gin, lemon, and honey concoction, Buzzy.

They also feasted on d’oeuvres which included empanadas and sliders.
