A dangerous rapist who cut off his GPS ankle tracker and taunted police while on the run has been caught.
Damien Kennedy, who has absconded on Monday, was spotted by police driving in Wollongong, south of Sydney, on Wednesday.
The 28-year-old was travelling in his silver 1999 Hyundai Sonata with a woman, according to 9News.
On Tuesday, Kennedy taunted police, writing ‘come get me mortherf**kers (sic)’ on Facebook while claiming to be in Rockhampton, seven hours north of Brisbane – where he was last seen.
The heavily-tattooed criminal was jailed for nine years in 2008 for rape and assault with intent to commit rape against a 49-year-old prostitute in the Queensland capital.

Kennedy was granted parole in January 2013 after completing sex offender rehabilitation programs in prison.
He was being supervised under the Dangerous Prisoners Sexual Offenders Act but removed his ankle monitor and eluded police.
Authorities said his drug addiction ‘may give rise to sexually violent reoffending’.
Kennedy has a history of misbehaviour while on parole, testing positive for drugs six times, particularly meth and marijuana.
The failed drug tests put him in and out of jail until he was allowed to live with his mother in August and described as a ‘work in progress’ who was seeking help for his drug addictions.

He failed yet another drug test on Monday morning hours before he cut off his monitor and fled, as he would be sent back to jail.
Kennedy was described as being 171 centimetres tall, weighing 125 kilograms with fair complexion and shaven black hair.
He has numerous tattoos all over his body including ‘Southside’ across his neck, a Chinese demon on his right shin, ‘love & hate’ on his right-inner forearm, ‘RUN A’ on his right knuckle and ‘Muck’ on his left knuckle.
He faces a minimum year in jail.
