Read the blistering spray footy star Mitchell Moses gave to his own teammates after another awful loss – as its ‘hidden meaning is revealed’

  •  Mitch Moses’ dressing room tirade leaks to media
  •  Moses is believed to be taking aim at Eels officials
  •  Parramatta currently sit bottom of the NRL ladder

Some of the details of a blistering spray that Mitchell Moses gave to his Parramatta teammates after their heartbreaking loss to Newcastle have gone public – including the hidden reference he made to the team’s top brass.

Despite an exciting comeback, the Eels went down 34-26 to the Knights on Saturday night and remain at the bottom of the NRL ladder.

A fired-up Moses launched into an expletive-laden tirade in the sheds afterwards that the Eels probably wish had stayed private.

As reported by the Sydney Morning Herald, the superstar halfback said: ‘No one outside this room is going to help us get out of this, so we’ll have to do it ourselves.’

It’s believed Moses was taking aim at the club’s powerbrokers with his ‘outside this room’ comment as Eels powerbrokers come under fire over the club’s awful form and the mid-season sacking of coach Brad Arthur, whose replacement still hasn’t been named.

The halfback declined to talk to the publication, but sent a short text message explaining himself.

‘As you can imagine it’s been a frustrating season,’ Moses wrote in the text.

‘We just lost another match and I had a private conversation in the dressing room right after the game, that’s all it was.

‘We are all trying our guts out and we all just want to win footy games.’

The tirade was heard by several Eels officials including general manager of football Mark O’Neill, who walked in on it.

Chief executive Jim Sarantinos said he didn’t have a problem with the outburst from Moses.

‘Mitch’s comments were understandable in the dressing room environment immediately after a closely fought match,’ he told the Herald.

‘Simply said, he was expressing his emotions after a loss, where he and the team had busted their guts and didn’t get the result that they and the club were after.’

Meanwhile, Parramatta interim coach Trent Barrett has called for club officials to make a decision on who will officially replace Brad Arthur as soon as possible.

Barrett said getting everything ‘out in the open’ could also be crucial to ensuring NSW State of Origin winger Zac Lomax didn’t backflip on his decision to join the club next year.

The Parramatta board had a meeting on Tuesday night at which it has been reported a decision was going to be made on whether Barrett, Jason Ryles, Josh Hannay or Dean Young would take the reins for 2025.

It is understood the board will not make any public announcements until after Thursday’s clash with South Sydney – and that can’t come soon enough for Barrett.
