Read the painfully polite note left for ‘selfish and entitled’ dog walker who parked in a private space all day

A ‘selfish’ dog walker has been slammed for leaving their car in a private parking space for an entire day in an upmarket Sydney suburb.

The disgruntled resident admonished the driver in a neat handwritten note after they parked their car in Cremorne, in the city’s lower north shore, this week.

‘These are private spaces and are marked as such, you knew this when you parked here this morning and scurried off with your two dogs,’ they wrote.

‘To stay here all day when the owner of the space has had to park elsewhere is next level selfish and entitled.

‘There were street spaces available when you parked here – but you knew that too.’

The author, who signed off the pointed note as ‘karma’, told the driver to park their vehicle elsewhere next time.

‘You car details have been recorded. Don’t stop by here again, take your selfishness elsewhere, thanks,’ they wrote.

Locals were quick to applaud the author after a photo of the letter was uploaded to a community Facebook page this week.

‘Actually nice and polite and not painful,’ one group member wrote.

‘Karma writes well,’ another said.

‘The irony is lost on the selfishness of the writer believing they are entitled to a reserved car space as if they are royalty,’ a third person shared.

‘Lovely handwriting,’ a fourth added.

Others shared their own parking dilemmas in the comments.

‘This happened to me a few years ago when I lived in Cammeray. [They] disappeared for [more than] four hours,’ one person wrote.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted North Sydney Council for comment.

Residents in New South Wales are entitled to use private parking spaces designated specifically to them under strata parking rules.

Parking spaces allotted to properties managed under strata schemes may also have some spots available for their visitors.

An owner or occupier who is caught breaking parking rules after being issued with a breach notice can be ordered to pay a $1,100 fine.
