Real Madrid players ‘attempting to persuade Neymar to join’ as they hope PSG star chooses them over Barcelona
- Neymar is searching for a route out of Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain
- Barcelona and Real Madrid have been heavily linked with the Brazilian
- Zinedine Zidane has refused to rule out making a late move for Neymar
A number Real Madrid players have reportedly been doing their best to tempt Neymar to join them at the Bernabeu.
Neymar is looking for a route out of Paris after successive Champions League failures since his world-record £198million move from Barcelona just two years ago, with the latter and Madrid heavily interested in his services.
The French club are willing to let the Brazilian star leave this summer but it will take a significant bid from one of the two Spanish sides.

A return to Barcelona has appeared the most likely outcome for most of the summer but Madrid are growing increasingly confident of beating their bitter rivals to his signature.
And according to ESPN, members of the Madrid squad have been calling Neymar directly to try and persuade him to choose them.
Speaking after Madrid’s final pre-season friendly against Roma on Sunday, Zinedine Zidane suggested that a move for Neymar is possible with three weeks of the window remaining in Spain.

‘Neymar is not [in our squad] but until September 2, anything can happen,’ the 47-year-old said.
‘We are with the squad that we have and we are only thinking about that.’
Madrid were quick to do the bulk of their business earlier on in the summer, bringing in Eden Hazard, Luka Jovic, Ferland Mendy, Eder Militao and Rodrygo.
But a move to Real is looking ever more likely, particularly after PSG fans demonstrated their displeasure with Neymar.
Paris Saint-Germain supporters hold a banner reading ‘Neymar, leave’ last weekend
Some supporters displayed a banner saying ‘Neymar, leave’ in the stands at the Parc des Princes during PSG’s game against Nimes last weekend.
The forward’s sister Rafaella Santos was outraged by this, taking to social media to slam those supporters involved.
She wrote:’What disgusting and disrespectful heaps of human y’all are! You wish you still had my brother at your team. You will win nada without him. F******’.
