In his four years at Real Madrid, Gareth Bale has integrated himself fully into the culture – everything from the food and culture to the language.

Following his display against Borussia Dortmund in their Tuesday night Champions League clash, Bale took himself out for a traditional Spanish meal at a restaurant on the outskirts of the capital city.

The Wales international ate at Maduk restaurant in the suburb of Majadahonda, and gave the food his seal of approval on social media.

The forward dined on what looked like a lamb and a chicken dish, along with an asparagus and avocado salad – impressive enough to Bale that it got its own picture on Instagram – and freshly baked bread.

The food all looks delicious, and Bale gave his dinner a glowing review in the captions – written in Spanish – and posed with the owner outside the eatery.

He wrote: ‘Amazing food in my new favorite restaurant in Majadahonda. Congratulations my friend.’

Bale visited the restaurant after scoring a tremendous volley in a man of the match performance during Real’s 3-1 win over Bundesliga leaders Dortmund.

Midway through the first half, Bale latched on to Dani Carvajal’s lifted ball and fired a brilliant left-footed volley past goalkeeper Roman Burki to open the scoring.

Although he had to go off five minutes before the end with a tight calf, Bale had certainly earned his celebratory meal.
