Jude Bellingham followed in the footsteps of Cristiano Ronaldo by launching his own YouTube channel.

Real Madrid legend Ronaldo began his channel last month and already has an incredible 57 million subscribers to his name.

The Al-Nassr star’s side hustle broke records with the most new subscribers in an hour after launching his channel – after reaching a million in that time.

Bellingham announced his own YouTube channel and revealed that from September 12, he will be releasing a behind the scenes documentary of his first year in Spain.

At the time of writing, Bellingham looks unlikely to match Ronaldo’s staggering subscriber count over the first 24 hours of the account.

Since announcing his new YouTube channel on Thursday afternoon, Bellingham has an impressive 184,000 subscribers – a number not to be sniffed at but someway off Ronaldo’s first day.

However, it is no shame on Bellingham, given that Ronaldo is also the most-followed sportsperson in the world on Instagram with over 638 million followers.

Bellingham enjoyed a stunning first year in Spain in which he won the LaLiga title and Champions League with Real Madrid.

The England star was also one of the nominees for this year’s Ballon d’Or award and is expected to get a high placing in the rankings.

Bellingham announced that a documentary of his first year in Spain will air on his YouTube channel.

He released a sneak-peek of ‘Out of the Floodlights’ – where he will post four weekly episodes of behind-the-scenes footage from September 12 onwards.

Speaking on Instagram, the England international said: ‘Hi everybody, it’s Jude Bellingham here.

‘I’ve heard YouTube’s where it’s at so I’ve decided to start my own channel.

‘Starting from the 12th of September I’ll be releasing an episode a week of a behind-the-scenes documentary of I’ve been filming of my first year at Madrid.

‘The highs, the lows, the Champions League, the Euros and everything in between.

‘Don’t forget to press the link in my bio and subscribe.’

Ronaldo has been very active on his YouTube channel, posting 31 videos since his launch.

His recent videos have included the seven questions he always wanted to ask his partner Georgina Rodriguez, revealing why he cried after missing his penalty for Portugal at Euro 2024, and telling former Manchester United team-mate  Rio Ferdinand that his aim is to score 1,000 goals in football.

Ronaldo took a big step towards that on Thursday night as he scored his 900th  career goal in a Nations League victory for Portugal against Croatia.
