Real Madrid are auctioning off several iconic artefacts from the club’s history after completing the Santiago Bernabeu renovation, with legendary lockers from their dressing room set to feature as the main attraction to bidders.
Changing room cabinets previously attributed to Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, Zinedine Zidane, Sergio Ramos, David Beckham and Luis Figo will form part of a 24-locker collection.
The lockers will be placed on sale for two weeks with bidding open from November 12 and a reserve price set on each individual display of £10,000.
Madrid decided to put pieces of the club’s trophy-laden past up for sale after completing their stunning £500m renovation of the iconic stadium in September last year.
The items will be displayed at Sotheby’s London Galleries throughout the bidding period with the sale marking the first time in history any locker from a European championship team has been offered at auction.

The locker previously used by Madrid legend Zinedine Zidane will also be put on auction
Lockers previously used by Ronaldo, Zidane and Beckham are expected to recoup the highest fee given the global appeal of each superstar who helped bring tremendous success to the club.
Each locker will appear as it was for the final season prior to the stadium renovation with the previous dressing room boasting six Premier League and Champions League titles during its time.
Other items that will feature in the glitzy auction include Madrid’s giant stadium mosaic measuring approximately three metres wide and with a reserve price set at £12,000.
The previous metal doors that the stadium used are also up for sale with bidding starting at £8000 in a world first sale of its kind for the Sotheby’s auction house.

Members of the public will also be granted access to view the stunning collection with a portion of the proceeds going to the Real Madrid Foundation.
Hailing the collection, a Sotheby’s representative beamed: ‘Sotheby’s is privileged to have been appointed to stage this unique auction of treasures from Real Madrid’s storied and celebrated history.
‘The sale of the locker room, in use by the first team from 2002 to 2022 along with other artefacts from the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium is an integral part of Real Madrid’s mission to share its heritage, providing a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for football fans and collectors from around the world to cherish a piece of its legacy.
‘We look forward to welcoming collectors and fans from all over the world to our exhibition, which will be free and open to all, in London this November.’
