Rebecca Morse and Mark Soderstrom’s SAFM Breakfast show replacements revealed after their shock exit

Rebecca Morse and Mark Soderstrom’s replacements were announced on Friday after the pair’s shock exit from their SAFM Breakfast show, Bec & Soda.

Former AFL star Bernie Vince, 39, and veteran radio presenter Emma Georgiadis will be presenting a new program called Bernie & Emma G from Monday, November 11.

Southern Cross Austereo revealed the news in a statement, promising listeners ‘engaging conversations, hilarious stories, to keep the morning energy high’.

‘Fans can expect a show filled with plenty of laughter, playful banter, and spontaneous fun as they bring their dynamic friendship to the airwaves,’ the statement read.

Both Bernie and Emma are Adelaide natives who have a background in radio presenting.

The former Adelaide Crows player shared his excitement over his shock new career move.

‘SAFM Breakfast alongside my mate Emma G, how exciting!’ he said.

‘She is a star, and I can’t wait to get started with this amazing opportunity for the both of us to build something new.

‘We are both passionate about South Australia and having fun on the radio and I cannot wait to give you the pre-season listen to 2025!’

Meanwhile, Emma G added she was delighted to be working alongside her long-term friend.

‘As a passionate Adelaidean, I’m super excited to be back on the airwaves in my hometown, on the station I listened to and loved growing up,’ Emma said.

‘Bern has a magnetic energy and is a legend to work with. We can’t wait to wake up with Adelaide every morning!’

Their program will be broadcast on weekdays from 6am – 9am.

The news comes after Bec and Soda co-host Mark Soderstrom, 54, revealed earlier this week he was immediately leaving his program so he could deal with difficult personal circumstances.

Rebecca later told listeners her contract with SAFM had not been renewed, so she would also be stepping down.

‘I was told on Tuesday my contract would not be renewed and was offered the opportunity to see out the week,’ Rebecca posted on social media.

‘Unfortunately the way the events unfolded meant I felt emotionally unable to return to the studio so I want to say sorry to the SAFM family that I didn’t say goodbye.’
