Urgent recall for popular chocolate chip biscuit product over fears it could cause a serious allergic reaction

  • Shelby’s Chocolate Chip Cookies recalled over an undeclared milk allergen   
  • Consumers with a milk allergy or lactose intolerance urged to return product
  • Woolworths and IGA stores nationwide are recalling the popular biscuits packs 

Australia’s supermarket giants have recalled a popular chocolate chip biscuit product amid fears it could cause a serious allergic reaction. 

Food Standards Australia has urged Woolworths and IGA stores to remove Shelby’s Healthy Hedonism Chocolate Chip Cookies 120g and Double Choc Hazelnut Cookies 120g due to the presence of an undeclared milk allergen.

Consumers who have a milk allergy or lactose intolerance are warned not to consume the biscuits with a best before date up to and including 09/02/2022, as they may have a reaction.

Shelby’s Healthy Hedonism Chocolate Chip Cookies 120g and Double Choc Hazelnut Cookies 120g (pictured) have been recalled due to the presence of an undeclared milk allergen 

The popular products have been sold at multiple Woolworths stores nationally and online. 

IGA customers in New South Wales, Australian Capital Territory, Queensland, Victoria and South Australia are also warned not to consume the product.  

Food Standards Australia has urged consumers to return the products to the place of purchase for a full refund.
