Reckless driver PULLS UP on busy M1 to let his child go to the loo on the carriageway – forcing other cars to stop or swerve to avoid hitting them

A BMW driver forced other vehicles to stop on a busy rush-hour motorway so his child could go to the toilet.

The driver stopped in the M1’s slow lane near Northampton, not far from junction 16.

Other motorists were forced to stop and frantically honked their horns terrified that they would be rear-ended by other cars travelling at 70mph.

Shocking footage of the incident was captured by a motorist who was forced to pull up – and he said the unapologetic driver gave him two fingers when he tried to remonstrate with him.

Dashcam footage shows the boy, who appears to be wearing school uniform, crouch by the stationary car’s back wheels and relieve himself.

Then he clambers back into the silver car which immediately drives off and moves into the motorway’s second lane.

The driver who caught the baffling scene on his dash cam said he was heading home from work at the time.

‘I had to stop in a live lane of the motorway behind this mindless idiot.

‘I was in lane one which is the turn off for junction 16,’ he said. ‘I could see that there was a car in front but the sun was low so I couldn’t see his hazard lights which were on.

‘I saw a young a lad, about six or seven crouching down and having a wee on the carriageway.

‘I was pressing my horn to tell him to get out of the way.’

Cars forced to stop on the motorway are at risk of being hit by another vehicle travelling at up to 70mph.

‘What I saw was beyond belief and it could have easily resulted in a serious injury or even death,’ said the driver.

‘I was afraid the cars behind me wouldn’t be able to stop in time.

‘I was fearful of someone going into the back of my car, which would have sent me into his.

‘Maybe the driver thought it was a hard shoulder but it’s clear from the signs above it wasn’t and there were loads of cars driving along it.

‘After the kid was done he just got back into the car and they drove off.

‘I was there for less than a minute but that’s all it takes for to have been an accident.

‘We were literally 30 seconds from the next exit, which is what makes this all more ridiculous.

‘There was no excuse for him to stop there. can be to stop on the motorway without good reason.’

When he later confronted the reckless motorist, the driver didn’t even admit he had done something wrong.

‘I pulled up next to him and told him off but all I got in return was two fingers, which was charming.

‘He didn’t even recognise that he had done wrong.’

Northamptonshire Police are investigating the BMW driver and have appealed for the BMW driver to come forward.
