Red Sox infielder Kike Hernandez admits he ‘s**t himself’ during the LA Dodgers’ 2020 playoffs run to the World Series title on the field: ‘Pulled my pants down … completely sharted’

Red Sox infielder Kike Hernandez has revealed he suffered an embarrassing moment during the 2020 MLB playoffs.

Hernandez, who was playing for the Los Angeles Dodgers at the time en route to their World Series win, when he pooped his pants while out on the field.

The 31-year-old said he was on medication for a tooth infection that caused diarrhea but didn’t realize he had pooped himself until returning to the locker room.

Hernandez let the tale slip during spring training when new Boston third baseman Justin Turner, who also played alongside him in LA, asked him what the most embarrassing thing that happened to him during a game was.

‘[In the] 2020 playoffs, I had a tooth infection, so I was taking some antibiotics for my infection and one of the side effects was diarrhea,’ Hernandez said.

‘We got a big out in a big situation during the NLDS and I screamed ‘F yeah!’ — I was DHing and I thought I farted.

‘I went out to lead off the inning, I struck out in three pitches. When I went in the dugout, I went straight to the bathroom and pulled my pants down … completely sharted.’

Turner, clearly enjoying his teammate’s humiliating tale, sought clarification and pressed Hernandez for further information.

‘So you’re saying you misjudged a fart?’ he asked.

‘Uh no. What I’m saying is I s**t my pants during a game,’ Hernandez said. ‘In the playoffs.’

However, Hernandez’s little incident didn’t appear to have fazed him to much as he and the Dodgers went on to win the series 4-3 over the Atlanta Braves before beating the Tampa Bay Rays in the 2020 World Series.

Hernandez joined Boston on a free agency deal after collecting the title, by signing a two-year, $14 million contract in February 2021.

He re-signed with the Red Sox for one year and $10 million this past offseason.
