Adults who remain virgins well into their 20s and beyond have been revealing the reasons why online.
Frank Reddit users told the forum why they are still yet to have sex in candid confessions.
Mainly in their twenties, many simply hadn’t found the right person, while others admitted feeling lonely and anxious – and one woman said she was simply too busy focusing on her career.

Joining in on the lively discussion thread, one user admitted that despite being 27, they had yet to experience so much as a first kiss, expressing their frustration at not being able to find a partner.
Another user, 22, claimed that no one was interested in them, but added they were not interested in pursuing a sexual experience ‘just because they hadn’t had one’.
And this appeared to be the case for a group of women in their early twenties, who admitted a lack of confidence or opportunity was the reason behind their lackluster love life.

Other users revealed they were ready but were waiting for the ‘right man’ to come along, and weren’t prepared to settle.
However one honest 21-year-old had a very different reason, explaining that they were ‘asexual’, as well as being in a long distance relationship.
A heartbreaking confession came from one user, who admitted having ‘huge anxiety’ issues and zero confidence, also blaming her lack of social life.

‘I’m 24, still single and a virgin because I’m a strong independent woman who don’t need no man,’ she explained.
‘In all seriousness, I’m very independent and focused on my career and business.
‘Additionally, I feel like most 20-something guys are really immature and just looking for opportunities to hook up. Maybe I’m wrong, but that’s how I feel. At this age, few people want to form a solid relationship with 1 person, develop that deep emotional connection and settle down. When it comes to relationships, I’m more traditional and an old-fashion romantic,’ she concluded.
