Dozens of police remained at the scene late on Tuesday night door-knocking neighbours as forensic officers scoured the property for evidence.

Officers were seen removing bags of evidence from the home and the house remains a crime scene on Wednesday as police continue their investigations.

It’s believed the occupants worked on cars with multiple vehicles scattered in the front yard.

The man is believed to be a tow truck driver and was often seen bringing cars back to his house.

Shocked neighbours told the Courier Mail that they didn’t recall hearing any disturbances from the address and had no idea of the grim discovery until they saw multiple police and ambulances in the street.

Neighbour Zac Zwart said the house as well as the street were usually quiet. He said they were shocked when they opened their front door and saw a crime scene.

‘It’s creepy, it’s such a quiet house and a very quiet street,’ he said.

‘But there were obviously people there with all the cars everywhere and the bins are always out on bin night.’

Neighbour Bene Joseph told the ABC the occupants of the house were ‘very quiet’.

‘Not a lot of comings and goings, you would drive past and notice they’ve got more trucks and cars in the yard,’ she said.

Ms Joseph said she felt ‘overwhelmed’ and shaken.

‘It’s very close to home, quite literally, and I’ve got a young child so it just makes you think, who’s really in your neighbourhood,’ she said.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact them.
