Reese Witherspoon playfully calls out Laura Dern for not answering her FaceTime calls… and the Jurassic Park star hilariously responds

They have appeared together in critically acclaimed film and TV projects in the past.

And on Thursday, Reese Witherspoon poked fun at her friend and sometimes costar Laura Dern via social media, with a series of Instagram posts in which she bemoaned the fact that Laura wasn’t answering her FaceTime call request.

The Legally Blonde star, 45, first took to her Instagram feed with a screen capture from her phone while waiting for Laura, 54, to pick up.

On Thursday: Reese Witherspoon poked fun at Laura Dern via social media, with a series of Instagram posts in which she bemoaned the fact that Laura wasn’t answering her FaceTime

Witherspoon made a funny face in the snap, which read that Dern was ‘unavailable’ for the call.

In the caption, she wrote, ‘Dern? You there?’

Reese kept the gag going on her Stories, with a silly confessional video in which she told her 26M followers, ‘You guys, do you ever have a friend who doesn’t answer her phone calls but is clearly on her phone because it looks delivered? And then also, you know she’s on Instagram because she posted?

‘Because I have a friend like that too,’ Reese concluded, staring frankly at the camera and tagging her Wild costar on the bottom.

Laura, however, was not to be toyed with, as she posted on her own Instagram feed with a hilarious clap-back to her friend and colleague.

The brief snippet showed the talented actress staring at the camera with an air of frazzled frustration.

Presently, Laura raised her hand and leaned in, saying, ‘what?!’

She then tagged Witherspoon in the caption. Later, she had more fun, wondering on her Stories who she should call when jetlagged late at night. The next slide saw her FaceTiming Reese back.

The pair of Oscar winners most recently shared the small screen in HBO’s acclaimed series Big Little Lies, which ran for two seasons from 2017 until 2019.
