Ava Phillippe, 24, took to Instagram on Wednesday to share a nostalgic post as she reminisced over her childhood.
The daughter of actress Reese Witherspoon revealed that she had saved a lock of pink-dyed hair back from when she was just 14-years-old.
‘I dyed my hair pink in the bathroom when I was 14. I was going through some stuff and changing my hair was something that felt fun,’ she captioned the photo.
She shared that the bold color change helped her ‘navigate that period of growing up,’ as she showed the snippet off which she found taped in a journal.
‘Nearly a decade later, I opened up an old journal and found something little me *really* didn’t want to forget, she finished.

The post was a hit as Camila McConaughey, Matthew McConaughey’s wife, hit like and penned, ‘Beautifully shared.’
Phillippe is no stranger to dyeing her hair colorful hues as she frequented red carpets with her mother as her locks were various fluorescent tones.
Having had pink and rainbow hair, she decided to take give her natural hair a chance again as she got older.
Now, the Los Angeles native sports her golden locks as she looks like a spitting image of her iconic mother.
She was born to the Legally Blonde star and her ex-husband Ryan Phillippe back in September of 1999.
The pair then had their son, Deacon Reese Phillippe, October of 2003 who finds work as a musician while attending New York University.
Reese and Ryan called it quits in 2006 after nine years of marriage despite being one of the it-couples of the early 2000s.
‘I was so, so young, I was, like, ridiculously young,’ Witherspoon shared about the relationship in a 2011 interview with Elle.
According to Marie Claire, the couple ended their marriage citing irreconcilable differences.
However, the two are occasionally seen together as they co-parent their children and attend milestones in their lives.
‘I learnt a lot, though. It was an excellent opportunity for me to really find out what it means to be a partner and to be in a marriage and it’s not anything that I thought it was. You can’t say, “I don’t want to talk about that”. You just can’t. You’ve got to talk about it all,’ she finished.

Having attended UC Berkley, Ava is still usure about what career to pursue or if she wants to follow in her mother’s acting footsteps.
‘My parents have always encouraged me to choose the path that’s right for me and, you know, guide me along the way to make better choices than I might make,’ she told PEOPLE.
Her mother told ELLE, ‘Ava is so down-to-earth. She wants to do great things in the world.’
