Boston College quarterback Thomas Castellanos had a moment to forget in Saturday’s game against Army, when he got floored by referee Mark Wilson.

Eagles star Castellanos broke into space and went to rush up the field but as he checked over his shoulder while breaking into the clear, he inadvertently ran straight into Wilson.

The official had been scrambling to try and get out of the way of the quarterback and even appeared to slightly drop his shoulder and brace for impact when he saw he wasn’t going to get out of the way in time.

Castellanos, who is five-foot-10 and 195 pounds, was sent crashing back onto the turf.

Wilson, for his part, made his way straight over to the player to make sure that he was ok but he did also seem to be hiding a wry smile, judging by the television replay.

And fans watching on seemed to see the funny side, too.

‘That’s embarrassing. I feel for the kid, but I’m still laughing,’ said one fan in response to the video as it went viral on social media.

Another wrote: ‘Ref in the Army BC game is built like a brick wall!’.

A different fan joked: ‘The ref might be the best Linebacker in this game’ with a crying-with-laughter emoji.
