A festival goer who was shot during the Las Vegas massacre had an emotional reunion with the bartender who saved her.
Jan Lambourne was shot in the stomach when gunman Stephen Paddock opened fire on the thousands attending the Route 91 Harvest country music festival on Sunday.
While most fled the barrage of bullets, bartender Justin Uhart spotted her through the chaos risked his life to save the complete stranger.
‘It’s just an instinct. I don’t know,’ Uhart said. ‘I put my hand on the wound… and then I start screaming, ‘Medic! Medic!’

The pair had an emotional reunion on Wednesday when Uhart when to visit Lambourne in hospital
He said he had his hand on her stomach for three hours to try and stem the bleeding.
Uhart, who had been bar tending at the festival, was able to carry Lambourne – with the help of a few more brave strangers – to a nearby field where ambulances had set up a triage.
He wrote on Facebook that the shooting had been ‘nothing like the movies and worse then anything you’ve ever scene.
‘The blood I had on my hands was not my own and bodies were everywhere,’ he said.
Uhart, of Las Vegas, remained with Lambourne, of Teulon, Manitoba in Canada, while she waited for treatment, trying to distract her from the pain and keep her conscious.
‘She was terrified. I was just asking her the silliest questions of her cats, where she was from, tell me about Canada,’ Uhart said. ‘She was in a lot of pain.

‘She had a death grip… a desperate grip that I cannot describe. She was always saying don’t leave me… and I promised, I just promised I wouldn’t leave.’
Lambourne, a hair salon owner, said Uhart had stayed by her side, holding her hand, right until she went into the operating room.
‘I wasn’t letting go any more than he was, I think ’cause you know, we were gonna survive this and we did,’ Lambourne said.
Uhart only heard that Lambourne had made it through her surgery on Tuesday.
On Facebook, he wrote: ‘Everyone thank you for all the love and support. It’s just gonna take some time now.

‘However, i just got word that the lady who had the stomach wound, Jan, is in recovery and survived the OR. So I’m incredibly relieved for that!!’
The pair were reunited for the first time since the the shooting on Wednesday, when Uhart visited Lambourne in hospital, who is still recovering from the gunshot wound which shattered her pelvis.
It was a tear filled moment for both, as the pair shared a long embrace.
‘It’s good to see you ,’ he told her.
Lambourne said she was glad that her rescuer was OK too, adding it was ‘a rough night for both of us.
‘If it wasn’t for him, I would not be here,’ she said, in tears.
