England remain favourites to win Euro 2024 despite their overwhelming performances so far, according to a supercomputer. 

Gareth Southgate’s men were booed by their own supporters following Tuesday’s dire 0-0 draw with Slovenia. 

It followed a 1-0 win over Serbia and a 1-1 draw with Denmark, but the Three Lions managed to top their group. 

England will face Slovakia in the last-16 on Sunday and remain favourites to go all the way  according to to the work by stats boffins Opta, who have calculated every remaining nation’s chances of winning the tournament through a supercomputer.

According to the statistics, England have a 19.12 per cent chance of winning their first major tournament since 1966.

Southgate’s men edge out hosts Germany, who are second favourites at 16.09 per cent having secured seven points in the group stage. 

Spain, who were the only side to win all three of their matches in the group stage, are third at 15.41 per cent. 

France and Portugal, who have been draw on the same side of the draw, make up the rest of the top five. 

Out of the remaining countries at Euro 2024, Georgia have the smallest chance to win the tournament according to the supercomputer at 0.13 per cent.  

It comes despite them beating Portugal 2-0 to make the last-16 in their first ever major tournament.  

England will need to see a massive improvement in their performances if they are to live up to the supercomputer and their pre-tournament hype. 

If they manage to win their last-16 tie against Slovakia, which seems like a reasonable task to get done, they will face the winner’s of the round-of-16 clash between defending champions Italy and tournament underdogs Switzerland.
