Shannon Sharpe attorney Lanny J. Davis has confirmed his client offered at least $10 million to settle rape accusations with the ex-girlfriend who is currently suing the Denver Broncos great in Nevada for $50 million.

Speaking on a conference call with reporters on Tuesday, the prestigious attorney said the plaintiff and her attorney, Tony Buzbee, rejected the offer, which was made before Davis took Sharpe on as a client.

‘Perhaps her attorney was optimistic about the outcome,’ said Davis, who conceded the offer may have exceeded $10 million by multiples. ‘I would respectfully suggest there’s no grounds for optimism.’

Furthermore, Davis said a countersuit against the plaintiff and, potentially, Buzbee remains a possibility: ‘We have not excluded any option.’

Sharpe has denied the rape accusations made by his 20-something ex-girlfriend and has countered with his own claim that she is trying to score a major financial settlement from a consensual relationship. Davis named the accuser in Monday’s statement that also included several sexually explicit text messages she allegedly sent to the three-time Super Bowl winner.

On Tuesday, Davis alluded to the timing of the lawsuit, which comes after Front Office Sports reported Sharpe could be in line for a $100 million media deal.

‘It’s my reasonable inference,’ Davis said when asked if the timing of the lawsuit was related to the reported financial offers to Sharpe. ‘Others might disagree that they’re very related, that this plaintiff was looking for money.’

In his own Tuesday statement, Buzbee claimed ‘an incredibly damning video does indeed exist’ and its contents will ‘speak volumes about Mr. Sharpe and his behavior.’

Both Davis and his client have since demanded Buzbee release an unedited version of the footage, which they suggest will be deceptively changed to incriminate Sharpe.

‘Do not touch, do not tamper, do not alter that tape that we believe, without any doubt, was substantially edited, so that when it’s posted, as we expect it to be, we will immediately explain how edited and warped and distorted and out of context it is,’ Davis said. ‘We will get a copy of that tape, and then we will see whether it’s been tampered with.’

Buzbee has already denied altering the footage.

‘The statement from Sharpe’s newest lawyer falsely accuses Ms. Jane Doe of editing a video — a claim that is not only demonstrably false, but also desperate,’ Buzbee wrote. ‘The lawyer also suggests Ms. Doe refused to make the video available to Mr. Sharpe. Again, this assertion is easily proven untrue.

‘Here’s what is true,’ Buzbee continued. ‘Although Jane Doe never referenced any video or multiple audios that she possesses in the lawsuit that she filed, now that Mr. Sharpe’s lawyer has decided to broach that subject, we will address it.’

That aforementioned ‘incredibly damning’ video ‘will be played to the jury,’ Buzbee wrote.

Davis’ press conference marked the end of an eventful few days of the case.

After Jane Doe filed her lawsuit in Las Vegas, accusing Sharpe of raping her in late 2024 and early 2025, Davis responded with his own statement on Monday, denying the allegations and naming the accuser.

Then, in response to those denials, Buzbee released a recorded phone conversation between the plaintiff and the defendant in which he seemingly threatened her.

‘You want to be a d*** to me now, so…,’ said Sharpe, whose participation in the phone recording was confirmed by Davis.

A woman’s voice quickly chimed in: ‘I don’t want to be… Don’t manipulate me!’

Sharpe didn’t hesitate to respond.

‘If you say that word one more time, I’m gonna f***ing choke the s*** out of you when I see you,’ he said.

After a long pause, his voice is heard saying: ‘Thank you.’

An even longer pause then followed before the woman is heard saying: ‘I don’t want to be choked.’

Sharpe responded: ‘Yes you do. I don’t think you have a choice in the matter.’

On Tuesday, Sharpe’s attorney claimed his client was speaking ‘in the heat of the moment’ and the violent threat was ‘not intended.’

In Tuesday’s recorded Instagram statement, Sharpe accused Buzbee of targeting black men for financial gain.

‘Tony Buzbee targets black men and I believe he’s going to release a 30-second clip of a sex tape that tries to make me look guilty and play into every stereotype you can possibly imagine,’ the Denver Broncos great and popular podcaster said in a recorded statement posted on Instagram.

A well-known Houston lawyer, Buzbee previously represented the women who settled sexual misconduct lawsuits against NFL quarterback Deshaun Watson, now a member of the Cleveland Browns. Buzbee is also currently representing Andrew Tate’s ex-girlfriend, who accused the controversial influencer of physical abuse, and the woman who dropped her sexual assault accusations against Jay-Z.

The rapper has since filed his own lawsuit accusing Buzbee of extortion.

Sharpe, who has denied the rape allegations, is now accusing Buzbee of a ‘shakedown.’

‘I’m going to be open, transparent and I’m going to defend myself because this isn’t right,’ Sharpe said on Instagram following Tuesday’s guest-spot on ESPN’s ‘First Take.’

‘[Jane Doe] and Tony Buzbee want $50 million,’ Sharpe continued. ‘What they’re getting is sued for defamation and trying to take me down.’

Sharpe is first accused of raping Jane Doe in late 2024, allegedly forcing himself on her as she ‘was crying and sobbing.’ He allegedly raped her again in January after arriving at her home with promises of Christmas and birthday gifts.

‘The lawsuit filed under the pseudonym ”Jane Doe” lays out a pattern of intimidation, manipulation, and abuse, including allegations that Sharpe repeatedly threatened to choke and slap Jane Doe,’ read Monday’s initial statement from Buzbee.

Davis’ firm released several explicit text messages, purportedly sent to Sharpe by his accuser.

‘To set the record straight, we are releasing several of [Jane Doe’s] own explicit text messages to Mr. Sharpe that clearly indicate the nature of their relationship was consensual and sexual in nature — and, in many cases, initiated by her with specific and graphic requests,’ read the statement from Davis.

The shocking purported exchanges between Sharpe and his accuser date back to November of 2023.

‘Only if you put that baby gravy in me, then I can do whatever I want to me,’ read one message Jane Doe allegedly sent to Sharpe.

‘I wanna put my tongue in you’re a**hole and then marry u,’ read another message.

Two of the alleged texts from Jane Doe to Sharpe included her request that he ‘put a big black baby in me.’

Buzbee took serious issue with Davis’ use of the plaintiff’s text messages, all of which, the attorney claims, were sent before the alleged rapes were said to have taken place.

‘In his statement, Mr. Sharpe’s attorney references several texts,’ Buzbee wrote. ‘Every text that Mr. Sharpe’s counsel released today purportedly from Jane Doe are dated PRIOR to the alleged brutal assault set forth in Jane Doe’s case. Those texts were obviously released in an effort to distract the public’s attention from the allegations in Jane Doe’s lawsuit. It won’t work.’

Buzbee’s statement ended with a harsh comment about Sharpe: ‘As set forth in the filed lawsuit, Mr. Sharpe’s conduct throughout the two-year relationship reveals a pattern of narcissism, manipulation, and coercive control. It grew progressively worse.

‘Instead of owning up to his actions, Sharpe has chosen to mislead his lawyers and the public, and double down — this time by doxing Jane Doe, and attempting to humiliate into silence this woman who is 30 years his junior.’

The couple met in 2023 when she was 20 and he was in his mid-50s, according to the filing. The woman said Sharpe told her he would ‘buy her fake t**s’ if she won a weight-loss competition with him. From there, Sharpe allegedly pursued her vigorously, calling, texting and ‘demanding she come to his Beverly Glen mansion.’

Curiously, Sharpe demanded she sign a non-disclosure agreement when their relationship began, only to drop that request when she repeatedly refused.

‘… Sharpe made another demand—she had to sign a non-disclosure agreement, an ”NDA,”’ read the filing obtained by DailyMail.com. ‘He refused to explain why and would not let her see a copy of the proposed agreement. He simply insisted she sign one. Plaintiff refused. After multiple attempts, when he realized she would not cooperate, he finally dropped the issue.’

Jane Doe described their relationship as consensual, but claimed he ‘demanded complete control over her time and body.’ Often he was ‘expecting her to be at his house on his schedule, at his command, whenever he called,’ according to the filing.

She became particularly fearful of Sharpe during an argument during which there was a visible handgun in the room.

‘Plaintiff tried sharing her location with friends from her iPhone — just in case,’ the filings state. ‘But Sharpe saw her doing this. The moment he realized what she was doing, he grabbed her by the neck and told her, ”If you ever do that again, I will f***ing kill you.”’

A popular podcast host and ESPN personality, Sharpe is rumored to be in line for a massive new deal.

Front Office Sports is reporting that Sharpe has received multiple offers as his current media deal with Colin Cowherd’s platform, The Volume, is set to expire. Furthermore, sources tell FSO Sharpe’s next deal is expected to exceed $100 million, which happens to be the reported amount Smith got in his recent contract negotiations with ESPN.

Sharpe does have a massive audience. A recent interview with comedian Katt Williamson hit nearly 90 million views and Club Shay Shay currently boasts around 4 million subscribers, making it among the most popular podcasts in sports and entertainment.

Regardless of whether Sharpe’s next deal surpasses $100 million in total value, it will assuredly exceed the $22 million he made over 14 NFL seasons with the Denver Broncos and Baltimore Ravens.

It’s unclear if Sharpe’s next podcast deal will impact his guest spots on ESPN. Sharpe’s agent could not be reached for comment.
