They detail that due to initially signing for Sporting in 2023 and having played so well there that a pact was reached to not enforce an initial £85.7m release clause.

However, the Portuguese club are hopeful of generating a larger fee than his £60m release clause – with a bidding way set to ensue for their No 9.

A Bola report that Gyokeres wants to play for a Champions League club next season and has many teams on his wishlist. In fact there, there are seven in total: Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City from the Premier League, Barcelona and Real Madrid from LaLiga, Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain and Bundesliga’s Bayern Munich.

Mikel Arteta’s side have been warned that Chelsea could swoop in for a move though, like how the Blues beat Manchester United to buying Sporting youngster Geovany Quenda in a £43.7m deal last month.
