Simone Holtznagel and Jono Castano shocked their fans last month by revealing they had broken up in May, shortly after the birth of their daughter Gia.
However, a close friend made the bombshell announcement on Friday that the writing was on the wall for the end of their relationship for quite some time.
A source close to the pair told The Daily Telegraph that several friends and family members warned Simone, 31, that her model lifestyle was not compatible with Jono’s fitness and influencer career.
The first real sign of trouble was when Jono, 33, posted pictures of himself on a luxurious holiday in Thailand days after Gia was born on March 31 – and Simone and their baby were nowhere in sight.
Although many of Jono’s followers were quick to gush over the snaps, Holtznagel neither liked or commented on them.
Meanwhile, another follower pointedly asked: ‘Don’t you have a newborn baby? Where’s your girlfriend?’
Shortly after the post went up, the pair finally addressed rumours there was trouble in paradise and confirmed their relationship was over.
The former lovebirds are no longer living together, with Simone moving to Wollongong with their baby, while Jono stays in Sydney to manage his Acero Gym chain.

Last month, celebrity personal trainer Jono said he and Simone decided to go their separate ways around the end of May.
Simone is currently staying with her family in Wollongong, while Jono remains in Sydney running his gym Acero which he co-founded with his ex-wife Amy.
Jono exclusively told Daily Mail Australia of the break-up: ‘We just decided it was best for her to spend time with her family in Wollongong.
‘Who knows what the future holds our idea is just to be the best parents for Gia at this stage.’

The couple’s separation came around nine weeks after they welcomed their first child into the world on Easter Sunday.
Simone and Jono are believed to still be on amicable terms and are focusing on co-parenting their beloved daughter.
News of their split came just hours after Simone posted a cryptic quote about ‘moving forward’ and being ‘patient’ for a ‘long time’ on her Instagram Stories.
