RICHARD EDEN: ‘I was a lonely millennial woman covered in cat hair in the house drinking a lot of white wine during lockdown’, says Taylor Swift

As Taylor Swift performed her final concert at Wembley Stadium, she told fans of the key role London had played in her career.

Swift, 34, spent Covid lockdowns in Primrose Hill with then boyfriend, actor Joe Alwyn, while she wrote her 2020 album Folklore.

‘In my pretend, folklore world, I was like a classic Victorian lady wandering through the forest in a lacy nightgown, holding a candlestick and collecting feathers,’ she said.

‘The truth was that I was a lonely millennial woman covered in cat hair in the house, drinking a lot of white wine.’

Hats off to Clint’s tips for actor Sam

His roles range from Jurassic Park and The Piano to Brummie gangster drama Peaky Blinders – but Sam Neill regrets that he has never appeared in a cowboy movie.

He says: ‘I ran across Clint Eastwood once at an awards show or something and I told him, “I’d love to have been in a Western, ideally with you, Clint.”

‘He said, “What do you mean, Sam? You wear a hat and squint a bit.”

‘I thought, “Oh, that’s great. That’s all you need . . . You just wear a hat and squint a bit.”‘

Von Tresckow finishes a labour of love

Fashion designer Beatrice von Tresckow, whose outfits have been worn by the King’s niece Zara Tindall, has just finished a labour of love.

She and her team spent an incredible 1,800 hours creating her daughter Frederike Gardiner’s bridal gown for her wedding to businessman Caldon Pike in Cheltenham this weekend.

‘I put my heart and soul into that dress,’ Beatrice tells me.

Can’t wait to see it.

Claudia and Matthew’s form turns over £246million

Kingsman film-maker Matthew Vaughn has enjoyed a blockbuster year at Marv Studios, which he owns with his wife, Claudia Schiffer.

Newly filed accounts disclose that the production company enjoyed a huge turnover of £246.4 million last year, generating a £77.4 million profit.

Vaughn’s earnings come despite disappointing reviews for his latest release, Argylle. Accounts report Marv’s activities as comprising ‘film production services, film and TV distribution and brand licensing and management of the Kingsman and Claudia Schiffer brands’.

Vaughn and Schiffer declined dividend payments.

As well as making the Kingsman series, Marv has been behind Rocketman, Kick-Ass, Snatch and Layer Cake, among other hits.

Malmstrom’s ‘Browning 9mm

His credentials as an ex member of the SAS are the subject of ferocious exchanges of fire, as I disclosed on Saturday.

But businessman Peter Malmstrom, 57, has always done things in a certain style.

‘He had a Browning 9mm [semi-automatic pistol] behind his desk,’ a visitor to his office in the 1990s tells me.

‘And there was a full metal jacket [bullet] in a glass frame. It had a little brass plaque on it: “In Case Of Emergency, Break Glass.”’ Malmstrom says the gun was, in fact, a decommissioned CZ-75, and he had ‘some dummy rounds’ on display.

Perhaps they helped ward off his then mother-in-law, Mandy Rice-Davies, a showgirl in the Profumo Affair?
