Richard Wilkins, 69, has broken his silence on his new relationship with his makeup artist girlfriend Mia Hawkswell, 47, after they were photographed holding hands.
Speaking to Daily Mail Australia on Thursday, the veteran TV reporter said things between the pair were blissful.
‘Life is good. I’m happy. Things are good,’ he said when pressed about his new romance.
Wilkins, who is usually quiet when it comes to his private life, added: ‘It’s a bit weird when you have people sticking their heads out of bushes, but that’s that’s okay.’

In a video shared to Instagram by Annika, Richard was seen stepping off a boat hand-in-hand with Mia in a smitten display.
Mia also shared a cryptic post to her Instagram Stories on Friday, showing her clinking glasses with a man off camera, which she captioned: ‘All you need is love.’
And things appear to be getting serious between the pair as the couple were seen doing domestic duties earlier this week.
Richard held hands with Mia as they left Woolworths in Mosman on Tuesday laden down with paper bags.

A source told Daily Mail Australia they have been dating for six weeks, and have so far kept the budding romance low key.
They first met earlier this year, and have been spending a lot of time with each other in recent days.
Mia reportedly recently split from a long-term partner, while Richard broke up with his longtime girlfriend Nicola Dale in January.

According to her website, Mia runs classes known as The Over 40s Club, which offers makeup and beauty advice for older women.
She has worked with huge names including Pamela Anderson, Thirty Seconds to Mars, Florence Welch, Jimmy and Jane Barnes, Black Eyed Peas and Dean Lewis.
She also has a popular TikTok account where she offers makeup advice for mature skin.
Richard previously dated Nicola Dale for four years, before news of their split was confirmed in January.
