The Tigers have only won three of a possible 10 games so far this season, leaving them unlikely to make the finals.

‘Damien Hardwick will tomorrow inform his players that he has quit Richmond,’ SEN’s Tom Morris said.

‘The reason behind this decision is largely burn out.’

Hardwick is Richmond’s longest serving coach and has been at the helm for more than 13 years.

His successful tenure has seen the Tigers claim three premierships in four years.

Before taking up coaching he played for Essendon and Port Adelaide.
