Ricki-Lee Coulter to reunite with judge Marcia Hines on Australian Idol two decades after she auctioned for the singing show

Ricki-Lee Coulter has revealed why it’s so special returning to Australian Idol, 20 years ago after the show made her famous.

The singer, 39, told The West Australian, she is excited to reunite with Marcia Hines, who was a judge when she auditioned for season two of the show in 2004.

‘I Love Marcia, she’s my girl,’ she said.

‘We have a 20-year history and we’re very close, I love her dearly and Australia does too. I think everyone’s gonna be really excited to have her back on the show.’

Marcia appeared as a guest judge on the last season of the singing show, but this year has had her role upgraded.

She was part of the original judging panel on Australian Idol, alongside record executive Ian ‘Dicko’ Dickson and singer Mark Holden, before quitting the show in 2009.

She will be joining Kyle Sandilands and Amy Shark on this season of the show.

Meanwhile, Ricki-Lee was 18 when she rose to fame after she made it to the top 10 on Australian Idol back in 2004.

She placed seventh, and the talented performer has remained a fixture of the music industry ever since.
