Rihanna found an unlikely personal assistant in James Corden as part of his Take A Break segment on The Late Late Show.
Building momentum for her appearance on the program, the 33-year-old multi-hyphenate allowed the comedic host to assist her backstage ahead of her Savage X Fenty Vol. 3 fashion show.
After giving her own assistant Carolyn a break as part of the gag, James’ stint was about as chaotic as one would imagine as he badgered her backstage and gave unnecessary input.
Taking a pay cut! The Late Late Show host played Rihanna’s assistant for the day backstage at her Savage X Fenty Vol. 3 show as part of his Take A Break segment
In images obtained from the segment, Rihanna could be seen in a see-through black blouse and embroidered pants with a matching bustier underneath.
The premise of Corden’s Take A Break bit involves him trying on various jobs for size after giving an employee a break (hence the name), with the Umbrella singer being his newest boss for the day.
‘Well, Carolyn has been working with me for a while, so I guess I could have her take a little break,’ Rihanna said rolling her eyes.
After storming in while she prepped for her latest fashion show in Los Angeles, he went as far as to feed her with a straw, tell employees not to look her in the eye and even tried on some of her lingerie pieces.

The final straw being his campy alteration of the runway models’ walks while stepping in for the show’s movement director, Rihanna proved to have enough.
‘I f***ing hate it,’ she remarked to Corden after she witnessed her models do the robot, channel animals, and even self-slap themselves in the face.
Proving he should stick to his day job, the nearly 12-minute segment ended with the Barbados born superstar firing him.
‘Okay, James I’ve had enough. You’re fired,’ she told him, before uttering to the show’s creative movement coach, Stephen, ‘what the f*** is this.’

Behind the scenes look: The third installation of Rihanna’s Savage X Fenty show streamed on Amazon Prime, Friday and her The Late Late Show appearance was on Thursday September 23
Though the bit was all in good fun, Rihanna’s stress was naturally building ahead of the third installation of her Savage X Fenty show, which streamed on Amazon Prime, Friday.
In more raw parts of the segment she told Corden about her longtime focus on inclusivity, as evident in both the size-inclusive collections and the models who grace the catwalk.
‘That’s all that I write on, that’s like my bottom line. My foundation is based on inclusivity — not just because it’s a thing, that’s a “thing'” because people are making it a thing,’ she said.
Star-studded: Her always stacked runway shows included Emily Ratajkowski and Vanessa Hudgens
Unisex: Troye Sivan and other male models were seen modeling pieces from the unisex line at the show
Variety: Appearances included Cindy Crawford and Madonna’s daughter
Inclusivity: ‘I don’t care what size you are what race you are what religion you come from, I want you you feel like you’re presented here,’ she said of her brand’s foundation
Rihanna continued to say that she designs off experience, citing her childhood and being the daughter of a Black woman with curves. ‘I don’t know anything else,’ she said.
‘When I make something, I’d be an idiot to want to exclude anyone. I don’t care what size you are what race you are what religion you come from, I want you you feel like you’re presented here.’
The star studded runway show featured Madonna’s daughter Lourdes Leon, Gigi Hadid, Emily Ratajkowski, Cindy Crawford, Troye Sivan and Vanessa Hudgens (among others).
Performances included those by Normani, Ricky Martin and Nas and the event was held at the Bonaventure Hotel & Suites.
Billion dollar business woman: This year Rihanna attained billionaire status due in part to the success of her Savage X Fenty line which quickly eclipsed lingerie brands like Victoria’s Secret
