Riki Lindholme has revealed she secretly wed  Fred Armisen two years ago – after the pair began dating weeks after she welcomed a son via surrogate.

Wednesday star Lindholme, 45,  who became a mom to son Keaton on March 11 2022 after using a donor egg and sperm to conceive – told People the pair had quickly got serious, and three months after the birth, they wed.

Lindholme and Armisen had known each other for 15 years but the actress realized she was falling for him when they filmed Wednesday together in Romania in 2020.

She said: ‘I could tell I was having feelings, but then I was like, ‘Well, I can’t say anything because I’m about to have a baby. I knew that I was starting to have feelings for him, and I wanted to go on a date.

‘So I was like, Okay, let’s explore. Then it unfolded naturally over time. I wasn’t like, You’re the dad. I was like, I want to have dinner with you. My thought was, I want to kiss you. I want to see you. Then it just kept going.’

She told Armisen she loved him two weeks before Keaton’s birth with their son arriving while Armisen was still filming abroad.

She said: ‘He didn’t get to meet Keaton until three weeks after he was born because he was still working. And I said, “All I want is the truth. If you feel in your gut that’s not for you, it doesn’t make you a jerk. I’m not mad at you.”

‘I said, ‘I still think you’re the best. I just want you to really feel what you feel. And then be honest about it because it’s a big life-altering thing.’ And he said, ‘Okay, okay.’

Although they had only been dating a few weeks, Armisen stepped up to be a father and Lindholme and Keaton moved in with him.

Three months later the pair married in a Beverly Hills courthouse with Keaton and one friend in attendance – celebrating afterwards with ice cream.

Lindholme said she ‘never wanted to get married’ previously but changed her mind with Armisen and the ceremony was ‘just for them’.

The ceremony was so secretive she did not even tell her mother at the time.

Lindholme had learned she was in perimenopause and had endometriosis as she tried to conceive before welcoming Keaton.

She fell pregnant naturally with her then-partner in 2019 – but had to terminate the pregnancy at 13 weeks due to the fetus having major genetic mutations.

She underwent IVF, had seven surgeries to fix her uterus after the termination and tried domestic adoption which failed.

She picked out donor sperm and a donor egg online through an agency and used a gestational surrogate to welcome Keaton.
