Rita Ora and Taika Waititi shocked staff as they visited a tattoo store in Sydney on Wednesday.

The newlyweds made a surprise appearance to the Rising Tide Tattoo Studio in Chippendale.

The store shared a photo to Facebook of tattoo artist Scott posing alongside the British pop star and her husband after they got inked.

‘Today was a great day, I got to tattoo some amazing people. Maybe you’ve heard of them?’ he captioned the post.

Rita dressed casually in grey track pants and a matching jumper as she showed off her new tiny ink on her arm.

Meanwhile, Taika looked stylish in navy pants, a pink jumper and white sneakers as he smiled alongside Scott.

Rita is believed to have moved to Sydney with her New Zealand filmmaker husband Taika, whom she married in August last year.

The couple recently set temperatures soaring as they posed for a steamy photoshoot for Vogue Australia.

They revealed in the interview the secret behind their successful marriage is making time for each other.

‘That’s the thing about marriage and relationships, it’s about finding that person you want to hang out with and making sure you actually do that,’ Taika said.

Rita added: ‘It’s about sacrificing certain things and making time for one another, especially when there’s two busy people in the relationship… If you really care about someone you will figure it out.’

Taika also admitted that he felt ‘relaxed and at ease’ whenever he’s around Rita.

‘I’ve done a lot of things with other people that I’ve never been in a relationship with that feel very stiff, and the energy is not really there.’

‘So to do something with my best friend, it’s just more relaxing for us. We’re more at ease with each other and we can joke around and then we can also get serious when it needs to be.’
