Rita Ora plans renovations to modernise £7.5million ‘haunted’ north London mansion

Rita Ora has planned a huge house renovation to modernise her £7.5million north London home, after revealing her hopes to expand her property portfolio in Sydney.

The singer, 31, got the green light from Camden Council in October for her extensive plans to renovate the Grade II-listed ‘haunted’ property, built in 1882, after purchasing it last year.

The overhaul includes a luxurious dressing room, pantry and a panic room with Rita splashing out on stringent security measures to secure her home, including CCTV usually used in airports.

While it was thought the singer would be relocating to Australia, a source told MailOnline she will keep the London home as her primary residence and is merely adding to her portfolio.

An official report said: ‘A full security review was conducted covering the new premises, the potential safeguards that should be in place to enable the client to be at peace while residing at home, happy in the knowledge they are safe.

‘There are two rooms that can be used as a safe room where the client can go as a last safe haven. The door must be strong with good locks, and whichever room is chosen must have good mobile phone coverage.

‘Sadly, the client has been the victim of stalkers, intruders and online fraudsters. Luckily, because of her security measures, all have been neutralised.’

Rita was previously left shaken in 2015 when a thief broke into her then-home while she slept upstairs and made off with £200,000 worth of designer goods.

None of her neighbours objected to her recent planning application.

The new property is rumoured to be haunted, according to The Sun, who reported the seller previously said: ‘People definitely believe they hear strange things here at night.’

The publication also claimed that her current home, a £3 million penthouse in West London, is on the market and, is set to make her a £500,000 profit, if it sells.
