Rita Ora shares sweet montage of childhood home movies in music video for brand-new version of Shape Of Me as she celebrates her mother Vera

Rita Ora gave an insight into her childhood with the release of the brand-new version of Shape Of Me on Friday. 

The song, which features her The Voice Australia co-star and country music icon Keith Urban pays tribute to Rita’s mother Vera in celebration of her 60th birthday. 

In the accompanying music video made from a montage of home movies, the singer, 33, can be seen through the years in a series of throwback clips. 

Rita’s mum Vera, her dad Besnik, older sister Elena, 35, and younger brother Don, 25, are also seen during a variety of family days out and special occasions. 

The family enjoy a close relationship, with Elena also serving as the singer’s manager and Vera often pictured attending events.

Speaking ahead of the release Keith said: ‘When I did The Voice with Rita we just clicked right away. She’s great energy to be around and she’s a bad a** singer. 

‘So, when she sent me this song and asked if I wanted to sing with her on it, I said, “Can I play guitar too?”. I love how it turned out!’ 

Rita revealed she had collaborated with Keith and shared a sneak peak of her latest single last week. 

She shared a clip of the new hit, a version of Shape Of Me, and announced that the lyrics were inspired by her feelings for Vera. 

Coinciding the announcement with her mother’s 60th birthday, Rita explained that she wanted to write a song about Vera for ‘the longest time’ and now feels like she can ‘was finally able to share so much’.

Sharing the teaser with her 16.1million Instagram followers, Rita revealed the full version will be released on January 26.

She captioned the clip: ‘HAPPY BIRTHDAY MUM! We’ve been through everything together, you’ve always been such a beautiful inspiration in my life and in my music. 

‘I wanted to write a song about you for the longest time, so when Shape Of Me was written by me and the You & I writing squad for my album and released I was finally able to share so much that I’ve been feeling about you.’
