This is the shocking moment a driver attacked a man with a baseball bat during a road rage incident in Dublin.

Footage captures two men aggressively walking towards one another while at a red light on Cookstown Way in Tallaght, on Tuesday evening.

One of the men, clad in a navy gilet and grey tracksuit, strolls to the passenger side of a white Ford Fiesta and shrugs his shoulder and gestures towards the other individual in apparent confusion.

But before the man can reach the car door, he is repeatedly hit by the passenger of a red BMW, who wildly swings around what appears to be a baseball bat.

Trying to halt the onslaught on his friend, the motorist of the Ford Fiesta then drives his vehicle at the attacker.

With the fight stopped, the two men climb into their cars and drive forward – but not before bumping into one another with the vehicles.

The clip was filmed by law student Ethan Foley, 21, who was at the front of a bus held up by the mayhem.

He posted the footage on Facebook with the caption: ‘Welcome to Tallaght,’ and the clip has since racked up more than 300,000 views.
