‘Baby Gronk’ has became a social media sensation but the inspiration for his name, former Patriots and Bucs tight end Rob Gronkowski, seems to be fed up with the whole situation.
The 10-year-old football prospect, whose real name is Madden San Miguel, has seen his online fame grow exponentially through unofficial visits to D1 football powerhouses and pictures with Mark Wahlberg, Shaquille O’Neal and popular LSU gymnast Olivia Dunne.
And the real Gronk, a four-time Super Bowl champion, has been caught up in the mayhem – even joining the long list of athletes and personalities who have been contacted by San Miguel’s fame-hungry father Jake San Miguel.
‘Four weeks ago, my brother told me, ‘Yo, have you seen Baby Gronk?’ ‘Did I see him? ‘ I go, ‘His dad hit me up 500 times already.’ He goes, ‘Don’t do anything. The dad is so annoying,’ Gronk recalled to Barstool Sports at Tight End University.
‘And this was like five, six weeks ago. And then all of a sudden, two weeks later, it’s coming out everywhere.

‘Yeah, it’s to a point where it’s awkward. It’s too far,’ Gronkowski added, before saying that they would ‘cease and desist’ the child’s father.
‘Baby Gronk’s’ father has developed a reputation as an incessant marketer of his son, with Taylor Lewan and golf influencer Paige Spiranac among those calling him out for contacting them.
Jake was also caught feeding responses to his son in a podcast interview, urging his son to answer questions more arrogantly.
Asked by host Frank Dalena, if Baby Gronk, is ‘him’ on the ‘Bring The Juice Podcast, the child sheepishly replied ‘yes.’
San Miguel’s father demanded Dalena ‘ask that question again’, before providing an answer for his son to regurgitate.
‘Man, what kind of question is that? You see my Instagram? ‘Say that,” Jake told his son. San Miguel duly obliged before the same tactic was repeated as the 10-year-old was asked about taking Dunne to prom.
Looking incredibly uncomfortable and shaking his head, Baby Gronk did not seem to have an answer. Luckily, or otherwise, his father had one ready.
‘You gotta say ‘I already DM’d her, and asked her, and she said yes.” The hosts laughed as the young boy leant back in his chair seemingly embarrassed.
San Miguel’s father has also been criticized for putting too much pressure on his child, who is years away from even graduating high school.
‘We have been doing this for four years. There’s a reason there are no highlights on him. He really puts in a lot of work. It’s not just for content,’ Jake told The Athletic.
‘We put five or six days a week of training. He diets, he eats clean foods, salmon and brown rice. He is in a routine. He’s a real athlete. He’s not a normal kid.’
