The singer, 47, attempted to ‘prove his strength’ with the challenge but ultimately was unable to succeed.

Oh dear! Robbie Williams hilariously failed to crush an egg with his bicep in a hilarious video shared by his wife Ayda Field to Instagram on Friday

However, it proved to be quite a difficult task, and despite giving it all, Robbie was unable to break the egg.

Realising he failed, Robbie appeared in shock as he started laughing to the camera and pulled an animated face.

Sharing the video to her Instagram page, his wife Ayda wrote: ‘@robbiewilliams trying to prove his strength by trying to crush an egg with manly bicep… sadly, the egg disagreed #eggchallenge #machoman.’

It comes after Robbie teased at the idea of rejoining Take That for a third time as he revealed he and former bandmate Gary Barlow, 50, have written a secret set of songs together.

The Rock DJ hitmaker was a member of the boyband from 1990 until 1995 when he famously quit.

He later rejoined the group in 2010 for their sixth studio album Progress, but left again to focus on his highly successful solo career.

While speaking to Gary on the Meerkat Music radio show, Robbie told him: ‘I love writing with you and we are going to do more and more of that.

‘What people don’t know… we have written quite a few songs recently. Some things that I am really proud of.’

Gary added: ‘I am always proud of our stuff.’

Robbie later admitted that he decided to rejoin the band in 2010 to earn the recognition of his former bandmate.

He said: ‘If there was anybody on the planet that I needed them to know and feel what I could do – it was you.

‘I suppose because you are my older brother, musical entertainment wise, my peer. I desperately wanted that recognition from you more than anybody else on the planet. And we got it.’
