Robert Irwin doubles over in embarrassment as mum Terri tells X-rated joke about the late Steve Irwin on stage in Florida

Robert Irwin was left mortified after his mother Terri Irwin joked that she has a very special tattoo tribute to her late husband, Steve Irwin.

The mother and son were on stage for the VMX 2024 veterinary conference in Orlando, Florida this week when Terri, 59, left Robert blushing.

A fan in the audience admitted they had a Steve tattoo, leading to Terri making the X-rated gag.

‘It seems like there’s more than one person who has a tattoo of Steve and I was really impressed because I don’t have a tattoo of Steve,’ she said.

Then she added cheekily: ‘I have a tattoo that says “Steve was here”. I don’t think I can show it to you.’

The comment sent Robert doubling over and covering his face in embarrassment before he rose again to change the subject, saying, ‘Anyway! Alright!’

It comes after Terri paid a sweet tribute to her husband Steve on Christmas Eve.

The conservationist posted a photo to Instagram showing her late husband posing alongside their two children, Bindi and Robert.

The family are pictured, all smiles while posing with newborn Robert.

‘December 2003. Best month. Best Christmas. Best family. Cherish every moment,’ Terri captioned the post.

Steve and Terri Irwin met in 1991 when she visited Australia Zoo while on a holiday from the US and they married the following year.

Steve tragically died when a stingray barb pierced his chest on September 4, 2006, while filming near Batt Reef, Queensland, in his native Australia.

He was just 44-years-old at the time.

Terri famously took over Australia Zoo after being widowed with the couple’s two children.

Irwin and her children Bindi, 25, and Robert, 19, have worked hard in the years since Steve’s passing to keep his conservation legacy alive.
