Robert Irwin reveals his favourite holiday spots in Australia – after teasing reality television comeback

Robert Irwin has a deep love of his home country.

And the 20-year-old conservationist has revealed his two favourite places to holiday in Australia.

The Wildlife Warrior said that he likes to head to either Far North Queensland or Tasmania to relax.

‘I know what you’re thinking – two of the most polar opposite places, but they both have such rugged and raw natural beauty,’ he told news.com.au this week.

When in Tasmania, he loves to visit Cradle Mountain, an iconic site rife with natural beauty.

‘There are so many stunning hikes and incredibly friendly wildlife,’ Robert explained.

‘I also enjoy the Tasman Peninsula, Launceston, Swansea and the stunning Tarkine Wilderness just to name a few spots.’

In the Far North Queensland he likes to visit the mangroves and estuaries, as well as taking various mountain biking trails.

‘At a good distance away from the water’s edge of course,’ he joked, referring to the many crocodiles in the area.

This past week, Robert posted to Instagram with a humorous video showing himself in bed.

Robert, dressed in his Australia Zoo khakis, opened his eyes and asked the camera, ‘do you ever get that strange feeling when you wake up that you’re being watched?’

He then panned around his bedroom to show a boom mic operator, a camera man, and various other film crew-members in the room with him.

In the caption, the newly-minted I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! host wrote, ‘Tell me you do reality TV without telling me. And yes…I sleep in my khakis.’

Followers were excited by the prospect of a new season of reality show Crikey! It’s The Irwins that Robert seemed to tease in the clip.

The reality show, which followed Robert, his mum Terri and sister Bindi as they worked at Australia Zoo, premiered on Animal Planet in 2018, with its fourth season wrapping up in 2022.

‘Please be a new season of Crikey! It’s the Irwins!’ wrote one fan.

‘Ahhh yes, the only reality tv I’m willing to waste my life on,’ wrote another.

‘A new season of Crikey It’s the Irwin’s???? Finally!!!’ someone else said.
