Robert Irwin has revealed he ‘predicted’ his new gig as a cast member of Dancing With The Stars US over a decade ago.

The Aussie TV star, 21, who was officially confirmed to be appearing on the dance competition by Variety on Tuesday, made an appearance on the US version of the hit series in 2015.

Joined by his sister Bindi, 26, Robert gushed with his now familiar enthusiasm when asked by the host whether he would like to appear on DWTS as a ‘celebrity’.

Robert shared a throwback clip of the cute moment to his Instagram on Wednesday.

Wearing a brown suit with a button down collar shirt Robert, who was 11-years-old at he time, can barely contain himself at the thought of hitting the DWTS dance floor.

‘Definitely,’ he says in the video excerpt, adding, ‘I would love to do that it would be so much fun.’

Elsewhere in the clip, Bindi can be seen urging her brother to show off his dance style.

‘Robert himself has some really cool moves,’ she says proudly.

Robert then shows off his ‘sprinkler’ dance which involves putting one hand behind his head while extending his arm at full length and jerking it back and forth.

‘The 11-year-old me is beside himself right now,’ Robert said.

He added, ‘Bindi, thank you for inspiring me to take on this next adventure… Dancing With The Stars I’m so grateful for the life-changing experience ahead.’

Robert could not contain his excitement at being cast in the competitive dancing series, almost ten years after his sister won the program.

Bindi, 26, took the crown in 2015 alongside her dancing partner Derek Hough.

Robert will need to be in peak physical health to successfully compete on the challenging competition.

Bindi took to social media to share her excitement about her brother appearing on the show.

‘Robert, you are going to absolutely shine in the ballroom. I wish I could express the magnitude of how proud I am of you and everything you have achieved,’ she began.

‘Can’t wait to cheer you on each week as you inspire so many with your strength, kindness and determination. Here’s to an extraordinary journey ahead.’

Earlier this month, fans of the Irwin family were left swooning after Robert debuted a sexy new photo spread.

And, of course, since he’s an Irwin, it was only fitting that he posed with live animals in some of the photos – and according to the magazine, most of them were venomous.

In one picture, Robert left little to the imagination as he wore a pair of white underwear, giving a smouldering look to the camera as a large snake was wrapped around his neck.

In another snap, he cuddled with a large lizard, but this time, Robert was more covered up in a casual white tank top and dark teal undies.

The photos have since gone viral, with fans from all around the world swooning at the all grown-up Robert.
