Rorie Buckey did what many young women across Australia wish they could do and snapped up the nation’s teen heartthrob Robert Irwin.
Niece to late Hollywood great Heath Ledger and an academic golden girl, it’s easy to see why the wildlife warrior became so smitten with the blonde beauty, both 19.
As the lovebirds debuted their romance at the Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Sydney premiere on Monday, it became clear Rorie has everything going for her.
Rorie is the daughter of Heath’s sister Kate, who owns a design and media productions company, and Nathan Buckey, a floor coverings store owner.
The student is currently studying a bachelor of science in physiotherapy at Perth’s prestigious Curtin University.

Currently, entry into the four-year degree requires students to have an ATAR of over 90.
This means Rorie would have scored higher than 90 per cent of her peers during the HSC in order to land a spot in her preferred degree – a very impressive feat.
Before university, Rorie and her twin sister Scarlett attended Penrhos College, an all-girls private school in Perth.
The sisters’ late uncle Heath, who died of an accidental prescription overdose aged 28, was farewelled during a private funeral at Penrhos College back in 2008.

The twins flourished academically during their time at the prestigious school and in 2021, both Rorie and Scarlett received special awards from Western Australia’s education board for distinction in the classroom.
Photos on Rorie’s Facebook page also showed her to be an outgoing and social student with many friends.
Some images appeared to show Rorie and her sister dressed up to attend their Year 12 formal.
Given her impressive track record, it’s no shock that Robert was spotted cuddling up to Rorie during a romantic beachside date in Queensland on November 18.
After grabbing burgers and fries from a local Grill’d restaurant, the pair eventually found a patch of grass and sat down, prompting Robert to throw his arms around the blonde and give her a big bear hug.

Robert and Rorie appear to be the perfect match as they have plenty in common.
Both grew up in the public eye after suffering the devastating loss of a family member.
Heath was at the top of his Hollywood career when he was found dead in January 2008 following an accidental prescription drug overdose.
Meanwhile, Robert’s father Steve, known to the world as the ‘Crocodile Hunter’, died aged 44, on September 4, 2006, after being pierced in the chest by a stingray barb.
Rorie is currently studying a bachelor of science in physiotherapy at Perth’s prestigious Curtin University and has a twin sister named Scarlett
Steve is survived by his wife Terri, daughter Bindi and son Robert – who was just three years old when his father passed away.
Rorie’s father Nathan gave his daughter’s relationship with Robert the ‘seal of approval’, but Terri, Robert’s mother, is a little more on the fence.
Her caution isn’t for naught. While Terri may approve of Rorie and her accomplishments, there have been reports Robert is already planning to pop the question.
According to New Idea magazine, protective mother Terri has concerns that her lovestruck son and his smitten girlfriend will rush down the aisle too early.

‘Terri feels like Robert is moving way too fast,’ a source told the publication.
‘Rorie’s a sweetheart and it’s easy to see why he is absolutely smitten, but Terri knows the stakes are high.’
The publication also claimed Robert is a ‘romantic’ who is hoping to emulate his mother’s quick engagement to her late husband Steve after just eight months of dating in 1992.
Additionally, there is hope Rorie could be the one as Robert has often stayed mum about his love-life despite being linked to multiple women in the past.

In 2020, he reportedly went on a double date with a girl named Elisha Jackson, along with his sister Bindi and her husband Chandler Powell.
The year before, Robert was rumoured to be dating former Glee star Emmy Perry after they bonded over their passion for wildlife conservation.
However, that same year he was linked to US children’s book author Ashleigh Scully, with sources claiming they were in ‘constant contact’.
Nevertheless, Robert never confirmed any rumoured relationships until he stepped out with Rorie at the Mission: Impossible Sydney premiere on Monday.
But despite their big marriage plans, Robert and Rorie are currently in a long-distance relationship, with Robert based at Australia Zoo in Queensland while Rorie is in Perth.
