The acting world is in mourning once again with the passing of beloved 1970s and 1980s actor Robert Logan.
The actor – best known for his roles in 77 Sunset Strip and as the patriarch in a series of Wilderness Family movies – has passed away at 82, via THR.
The actor’s son told the site that his father passed away on May 6 of natural causes in Estero, Florida, and that the family waited until this week to announce his passing.
Logan was born May 29, 1941 in Brooklyn, the oldest of seven children, born to Francis Logan, a bank executive, and Catherine Quigley.
He excelled in sports throughout his youth, earning a baseball scholarship to the University of Arizona.

It was while he was attending school there that he was discovered by a Warner Bros. talent agent.
He made his acting debut in 1961 with an episode of Maverick, which he followed up with an episode of Surfside 6.
Logan made his feature film debut later that year in Claudelle Inglish starring Claude Akins and Frank Overton.
His busy year was capped off by starring in 77 Sunset Strip, taking over as the new parking attendant for a club owned by Dean Martin.
He took over for Gerald Lloyd Kookson III (Ed Byrnes), who was promoted from parking attendant to private detective at the agency next door.
Logan’s character, a hipster named J.R. Hale, appeared on 72 episodes of the series between 1961 and 1963.
He also played Jericho Jones in NBC’s Daniel Boone TV series and starred in movies like The Bridge at Remangen and Catlow.
Then in 1975 he took on the patriarchal role of Skip Robinson in the 1975 film The Adventures of the Wilderness Family.

The film followed Robinson who moved his family from Los Angeles to a log cabin in the Rocky Mountains for a quieter life.
The film also starred Susan Diamante-Shaw as his wife Pat, Hollye Holmes as their daughter Jenny and Ham Larsen as their son Tony.
He starred in two more sequels – 1978’s The Further Adventures of the Wilderness Family and 1979’s Adventures of the Wilderness Family 3.
He’s survived by his wife of 39 years Alina; his daughter, Courtney; his daughter-in-law, Hayley; his granddaughters, Elsa, Ingrid and Alma; and his siblings, Logan, Theresa, Janet and Timothy.
